Ram is working on the new edition of the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models. The next-generation is also an option. As a part of the update, the company could launch a new version of the off-road 2020 Ram Power Wagon. The last time this model saw big changes we saw the drop in the 5.7-liter engine. Now, it runs only with a 6.4-liter unit and it will stay so. Also, we can hear that FCA could add a turbodiesel drivetrain. In this case, the Power Wagon would become unstoppable off the road.
As a part of upgrades, there are visual and mechanical parts that will make 2020 Ram Power Wagon unstoppable. The truck is more aggressive than the base version. There are all-terrain tires to support adventures on any kinds of terrain. Unique shocks and suspension configuration guarantee the best output in wildest outskirts. Graphics outside and interior badging will make sure you know it is a special version of the Ram 2500 HD truck.
Pros and Cons
Why pick the 2020 Ram Power Wagon over the standard Ram 2500? As said, the vehicle is equipped with many features that will make off-roading easier. Dodge Power Wagon also offers plenty of power from its 6.4-liter Hemi engine. What’s more, towing capacity reaches 12,000 pounds thanks to a warn winch tow cable. With it, you can save your or others’ truck from an unwanted situation.
The ergonomics of the 2020 Ram Power Wagon will be superb. The truck is very practical. Although it is a special off-road version, it also keeps the performance on asphalt on a great level. The bad thing is that Power Wagon consumes too much fuel. The EPA is not testing Ram 2500 and other HD trucks that offer to tow capacity of at least 8,500 pounds. But, the Power Wagon is over all limits. This model is pretty attractive and aggressive, but the company needs to do something with its decals. We mean – come on! Power Wagon graphics on the bed are something worst we can imagine.
2020 Ram Power Wagon Changes
The new generation of the Ram 2500 sill changes the look of the truck. The same happens for the 2020 Ram Power Wagon. However, the off-road edition has unique updates compared to the base model. Also, every now and then the FCA launches the special version, and the latest one is from 2018. Back then, we saw Sand Edition. Meanwhile, fans got used to this with Ram 1500 full-size truck. The company prepares a special theme, and we still don’t know what exactly it will be.
2020 Ram Power Wagon Specs
Under the bonnet of the 2020 Ram Power Wagon remains a 6.4-liter Hemi engine. It will offer the same amount of power as for all other vehicles from the same company. Power outputs are 410 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox and the power goes to all wheels.
Special upgrades for this unit will include air suspension and 5-link coil. This feature expects an upgrade to improve overall driving impression. The 2020 Power Wagon will need less space for turning and handling is taking less effort. For rocky or slip road, there are special Bilstein shocks. Engineers will also revisit warn winch. This part will boost the appearance and peace of mind with its 12,000 pounds capacity. All-terrain tires are wrapping 17-inch wheels. This system makes the Dodge Power Wagon a great solution for all off-road adventures.
2020 Ram Power Wagon Redesign
Details are clumsy on the current Power Wagon. Graphics around the truck look like it is a family car. And it is not. With so much power and characteristics, the pickup needs meaner decals. Ram did it nicely with Rebel concept. Well, we are still waiting for the production version to appear (it could happen soon, FCA is giving hints about 707-hp rated Hellcat model). From what we can hear, the new truck is going to present the new look and more aggressive appearance.
First of all, the 2020 Ram Power Wagon will gain an extra inch of ground clearance. It makes it even more capable for off-road adventures. Front fascia and bumpers are new, as well as the design of skid plates. Headlights will pick up lines from the new Ram 1500. Bed functions and details are allowing more cargo to fit into a bed. The company is probably launching a new themed edition. But, it will happen as an update of the 2020 Power Wagon.
Some photographers are claiming they saw the prototypes of the 2020 Ram Power Wagon. However, their exhibits look like the standard Ram 2500, which will enter the new generation. Whatsoever, these two trucks will have a lot of similarities. But still, we are waiting for true spy photos of the vehicle. This could mean two things. One – the company still didn’t start tests. Two – they are already doing it, but the truck is hidden well. We will find out soon.
