Just like the rest of Super Duty models, the 2020 Ford F-450 will also come with lots of changes. The “blue oval” company has prepared a whole palette of novelties for the upcoming update. We are about to see a model that will come with both visual and mechanical upgrades, which should keep it competitive in the segment where two key rivals are coming completely new in the next year. Of course, we are talking about HD versions of the famous Chevy Silverado and Ram models. For this occasion, the company will introduce a lot of novelties. First of all, count on a lot of new visual details, especially at the front. Also, be ready for new mechanical changes. Naturally, we count on more standard equipment as well. Expect to see the 2020 Ford F-450 sometime in the second half of next year.
2020 Ford F-450 Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Ford F-450 will continue in the same way. Count on a familiar, rugged chassis that makes this truck capable of doing pretty much everything. The testing model of the new Super Duty series has been spotted. It’s not this particular model, but we are pretty sure that the changes will be the same as for the rest of the lineup. Therefore, count on a classic facelift. It will bring lots of visual changes, mainly in front. Some of the highlights will be a new grille with a new, bigger badge, as well as reshaped bumper and headlights. On the back, count on slight revisions of the tailgate and taillights, but don’t expect anything significant.
The overall shape, though, will remain the same. Count on familiar proportions, familiar body styles and familiar bed size. Eventually, we could see new wheels designs and a few more color options in the offer.
2020 Ford F-450 Interior
This refresh probably won’t bring more important changes on the inside. We expect to see a familiar cabin layout, with the same spacious cabin and recognizable dashboard design. Still, we won’t be surprised if we see new color schemes and finer materials in the offer. All in all, the 2020 Ford F-450 will feature a practical cabin, with many conveniences and pretty good overall quality.
2020 Ford F-450 Trim Levels
Like every update, this one should also bring more standard equipment. Each version will come with novelties, but we have no doubt that the base organization will remain unchanged. All models from Super Duty series, as well as the light-duty F-150, comes with six familiar trim levels in the offer – XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited.
The base XL is a classic working machine. It comes with necessary features only. Some of the highlights are polished alloy wheels, LED roof lights, automatic headlights, cruise controls, power windows and locks, 6-speaker audio system, dual glovebox etc.
The XLT is similar, but still offers several upgrades. It adds things like a 4.2-inch central display, satellite radio, smartphone integration, chrome bumpers and grille etc.
The Lariat is next in the line. This is a well-balanced version, with lots of standard equipment. It features 8-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery,dual-zone climate control, premium audio system with 10 speakers, rear parking sensors and much more.
As you may presume, the King Ranch comes with its familiar appearance, with lots of unique styling details. Also, there are additions in terms of standard equipment, things like remote start, heated and ventilated front seats, driver-seat memory settings, heated steering wheel, navigation etc.
The Platinum steps up to real luxury. Some of the highlights are things like LED headlights, fog lights and taillights, a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, multi-contour front seats, leather, and wood-trimmed steering wheel etc.
Finally, there is the Limited, which comes with a panoramic sunroof, a surround-view and trailer-towing camera system, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with emergency braking, lane departure warning, and much more things.
2020 Ford F-450 Engine
Unlike smaller Super Duty models, this one doesn’t come with a gasoline engine in the offer. A mighty turbodiesel is the only available option. It is a well-known 6.7-liter V8 engine, which delivers a max output of 450 horsepower and 930 pound-feet of torque. Such a huge amount of power and torque guarantees amazing capabilities. This truck can tow up to class-leading 21.000 pounds. On the other side, max payload capacity goes around 5.600 pounds. The 2020 Ford F-450 should come with a new transmission. A 10-speed automatic should replace the current 6-speed automatic gearbox.
2020 Ford F-450 Release Date and Price
The 2020 Ford F-450 will probably be the last in line, a model that will arrive after the F-250 and F-350 trucks. It will happen sometime in the second half of next year, though more precise date is still unknown. When it comes to the price, base models should go around 47.000 dollars.
