2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty, Platinum, Lariat

As you probably know, completely redesigned HD models of Ram and Chevy Silverado trucks are coming. Ford won’t just sit and do nothing. The company works on a mid-cycle update, which is about to bring several novelties and improvements. The current generation is on the market since 2016. So, the 2020 Ford F-250 seems like perfect timing for such update. The testing models have been spotted on the road and it looks there is a pretty long list of novelties to come.
Of course, most of them will be visual. The test mule still wears a complete camouflage, but we can presume some of the most important changes. However, it looks like this won’t be just an ordinary facelift. It is pretty much well-known that the company is developing an all-new engine for Super Duty series and it looks like it will be ready for the next year, according to the latest rumors. Therefore, we can expect 2020 Ford F-250 to come not just prettier, but more capable as well.

2020 Ford F-250 Design Changes

As we already mentioned, this update will probably be more than just an update. It looks like we are about to see a new engine as well. However, visual updates are always the first thing to be noticed. The 2020 Ford F-250 is about to come with a lot of them if we can make a judgment by looking at the camouflage. The new model is still completely covered, which promises a lot. Still, we could presume some of the most important modifications. There is no doubt that the front end will suffer most.
We expect to see novelties on parts like the front bumper, grille, headlights etc. Moreover, some reports also suggest some reshapings of the hood. The other end of the truck could also receive a couple of modifications, but these definitely won’t be so intense. Despite numerous changes, the overall shape will remain the same. Count on same dimensions, body styles, bed sizes etc. Also, keep in mind that these updates usually bring new color options and wheels designs.

2020 Ford F-250 Interior

Unlike exterior, the interior of the 2020 Ford F-250 probably won’t suffer too much. The cabin of the current model already looks pretty good and there is really no thing to complain about. New Ram and Silverado will probably feature slightly finer materials and more upscale look, but that definitely won’t be things that will make the difference. This cabin also has a lot of strong points. It is very practical and offers amazing visibility, considering the vehicle’s size. Also, there is a wide range of trim levels in the offer, so the offer goes from classic workhorses to some very luxurious versions. As well already mentioned, count on familiar cab designs – single, double and crew cab. Also, you can choose either 6.8- or 8.2-foot bed length.

Trim Levels

The base trim level organization definitely won’t change. Count on all those familiar names of trim levels that characterize pretty much all F Trucks in the lineup. There are six trims in total in the offer. The Xl trim is pretty basic. It offers things like steel wheels, rearview camera, air conditioning, 6-speaker, 4.2-inch center display etc.
Things are getting slightly better with the XLT trim, which adds 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, cloth upholstery, cruise control, power-adjustable heated mirrors etc.
For most customers, the 2020 Ford F-250 Lariat will be the best-buy option. This one adds a lot of equipment, including dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and power-adjustable front seats. Pedals are also power-adjustable, while the list of tech features is also quite long. Some of the highlights are an 8-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 10-speaker audio system and much more.

The King Ranch offers even more standard equipment, but the real catch with this trim level is actually in lots of unique visual details.
Stepping up to the Platinum model and you are now in the area of quite luxurious trucks. Therefore, a Crew Cab is the only body style you can get. Among exclusive standard features are  LED headlights, automatic wipers, power running boards, multi-contour seats, 20-inch wheels and much more.

Finally, there is the Limited trim. The flagship model comes with things like unique leather interior, surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, a panoramic sunroof etc.

2020 Ford F-250 Engines

When it comes to the engines, many believe that a new 7.0-liter V8 gasoline engine will be ready for the next year. The new engine should be rated at around 450 horses, which is much more compared to the current 6.2-liter unit, which delivers around 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Of course, this would also mean better max towing capacity, which with the current engine goes up to 15.000 pounds.
On the other side, the class-leading 6.7-liter diesel engine will remain unchanged. It delivers around 450 horsepower and 935 pound-feet of torque. With this engine, the 2020 Ford F-250 will be able to tow more than 18.000 pounds.
