2020 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Review, Specs, Features

It seems like the 2020 Chevy Silverado ZR2 will be something we expected to see as a Chevrolet Reaper. This concept was imagined as the rival to Ford F-150 Raptor. However, the latest spy photos are showing a truck similar to Silverado.

The ZR2 version of mid-size Colorado is smaller a match to Ford’s full-size truck. In the compact segment, Colorado will battle Ranger and its Raptor version. In half-ton class, the Silverado ZR2 should get on the line to F-150 Raptor.

Why does GM change the course and the name? Well, Reaper project is now already old. It loses fans that expect it for a long time. Instead, the concept and idea will live through 2020 Chevy Silverado ZR2.

Also, being on the streets means the company is more serious than ever to make a performance-oriented truck. Finally, the ZR2 from the lower class shows promise that we can’t wait to see integrated into the Silverado 1500 truck.

The teaser image we could see recently, where Chevy is replacing bow tie badge with Chevrolet sign, is probably the idea for the new ZR2 truck. The similar design solution is used by Ford and its Raptors.

Nevertheless, the performance-oriented version of the pickup will have a lot more features. We believe 2019 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 is going to be built on Crew Cab and short box configurations.

Exterior design is going to bring many rich and aggressive details. Unique hood, side skirts, and wheels will boost the overall image. Also, tail lights, exhaust tips, and tailgate will come with a special design.

2020 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Specs

No suitable engine is available currently in the Chevrolet’s truck lineup. However, we could search for it among pony cars and crossovers.

However, the only certain thing is that GM plans to beat Ford F-150 Raptor and its 450 hp output. According to info, engineers have a task to land 2020 Chevy Silverado ZR2 around 550 horses.

Supercharged V8 from Camaro and Corvette is too powerful. It can put up over 650 hp. Downgrading it is a complicating process.

However, we are pretty sure that the new rival will be Ram Rebel with the output of 707 horsepower. So, Chevrolet could install the strongest unit under the hood of the upcoming Silverado ZR2.
