2019 Cadillac Escalade EXT Rumors and Release date

It looks like the once pretty unpopular truck will try another shoot as 2019 Cadillac Escalade EXT. This model was in production for more than ten years.

The original version came in 2002, along with the second-generation Escalade SUV. Initial sales were decent but started to descent only a few years later. The new version, which was based on the third-generation of Escalade SUV was a real disaster. With just a few thousands of units sold per year, it was clear that the future isn’t bright for this truck. So, it was finally discontinued in 2013.

Five years later, it seems that the company is willing to give another try to this model. The current version of the popular SUV is present since 2015, and its pickup variant would come next year, along with the mid-cycle refresh. Still, we are waiting for the official confirmation.

Although there are still no official details about the 2019 Cadillac Escalade EXT, we can presume how it would like. Just like the previous version, it would be heavily based on the famous luxury SUV. Still, some sources suggest a little bit longer wheelbase, which will provide enough space for both comfortable cabin and spacious bed. Still, visual appearance is easy to guess. The front end should be completely identical to the famous SUV. This could include potential changes of the upcoming mid-cycle refresh.

When it comes to the body style, it is pretty much certain that this truck will feature some kind of a crew cab design, with plenty of space insider, everything less than that would be disappointing. Speaking of the mechanics, things should remain the same, except some tweaks on the rear axle that could come. The interior design should be the same as in the famous SUV.

As we have already mentioned, the 2019 Cadillac Escalade EXT will probably feature interior design identical to the more famous SUV version. The cabin would be a little bit smaller, but the overall layout, including a dashboard, should be completely the same. Besides familiar dashboard design, we should also see a similar trim level organization.

To remind you, Escalade comes with four trims in the offer – base, Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum. Even the base model has a plenty of standard features on its list. After all, this is a luxury SUV. The 2019 Cadillac Escalade EXT would probably feature some smaller tweaks, but the core will remain the same. Things under the hood should also remain unchanged.

When it comes to powertrain, we expect 2019 Cadillac Escalade EXT to be completely identical to the famous SUV. That means a large and powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine, which delivers around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. With such high amount of power and torque, expect nothing less but amazing acceleration and top speed. In addition to this mighty engine, this truck will receive a new 10-speed automatic transmission that will provide even smoother drive.

Besides the powerful engine, this truck will probably use the same suspension as Escalade SUV. This means pretty good handling, considering trucks size and overall weight. When it comes to fuel economy, it should go around 15 mpg in the city and 21 on a highway.

Each year GM continues to quote stats and show photos of next EXT to be released that year. Lies, lies and more lies each year…and you wonder why Cadillac continues to lose market share to foreign lux cars? Time to release top mgt. from Cadillac division of GM and get smart people for Cadillac before it’s too late!

I’ve been waiting for this truck since 2014! Just needs a longer wheel base for more spacious rear seating, would be a great Hybrid version with better gas mileage like 21/30 city/hgy. THINK TESLA better batteries better mileage, Either way I’d still buy if GM can get its sh$t together.

I have owned probably almost 200 vehicles from among almost every quality manufacturer in the automotive and truck industry. I currently own 9 vehicles (cars and trucks combined) and the pride of my fleet currently sitting in my drive is my 2004 Escalade EXT truck. I have over 210,000 miles on it and still drive it every day. This EXT is by far the BEST/MY FAVORITE vehicle of all the 200 I have owned. In 2015 I wanted to buy a new EXT to only find out that they stopped making the EXT. If the EXT is produced again for 2019 I will buy one the week they are released……. absolutely !!
