The 2016 Tacoma Double cab is bigger model of two trims offered for new truck. This vehicle is packed for excellent performance and it is boosted with TRD Pro off-road package. This feature is also available for other trims. As before, Double cab configuration is offered in few variants. Mid-size pickup can be bought in 5-speed automatic version or 6-speed either auto or manual. Also, 4×4 is standard, and bed length is also long or short.

Configuration of the bed is different for various trim levels. In the SR trim, 2016 Tacoma Double cab is available with short bed. Same option is present if you purchase TRD Off-road model. For SR5 and TRP Sport levels there are both short and long bed variations, and limited model again gets short bed. Long variant’s bed is 60.5 inches long, 57 inches wide and 19 inches high. For 6-ft bed, dimensions are increased. Deep and width are the same, but length is enlarged to 74 inches.
2016 Tacoma Double cab – redesign
The 2016 Tacoma Double cab is available configuration for all trim levels. Highlight of the entry level SR models are keyless entry and cruise control. Outside are 16-inches alloy wheels. In the cabin we can find fabric-trimmed seats, which are very comfortable. For boosted infotainment, there is Entune system. Backup camera is integrated for better visibility of tricky angles and spots.
For SR5 trim audio plus and navigation are added to Entune. Fog lights are standard outside and 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display inside. A 17-inch alloy wheels replace standard option for TRD Sport trim, while 16-inch alloy wheels are on the TRD Off-road model, installed for better ride in tough terrains. The 2016 Tacoma Double cab models can be found with 2.4-l I-4 engine, which is and unit used by this year models. Output is the same, delivering 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. However, there is a V6 variant with 3.5-l displacement. This drivetrain is producing more power, with 270 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque.
